Where to Stay

The wedding party will be staying in the fifteen rooms at the Brass Heart Inn. For everyone else, there are several inns and motels within a few miles of the wedding venue. They range in cost and comfort-level, and some have two-night minima, while others have no restrictions on how long you must stay. All of the inns are non-smoking and at everywhere but Samantha's Inn, breakfast is included in the rates. If you are planning on staying two nights, we ask that you try to book a place with a two-night minimum, so we can save the other rooms for guests who will only be joining us for one night.

It is a good idea to make your reservations early; these places are very popular in the summer and we can't block out any rooms at the smaller inns. At Samantha's Inn, we have 15 rooms blocked out until April 15.

Here are the area inns we like, grouped by vicinity. All are within a 10 minute drive from the Brass Heart Inn. (NH tax is 8% in hotel rooms, so you'll need to add that on to the rates below.) The shuttle will stop at all of these inns (see Getting Around)

Just down the road from the Brass Heart Inn. Probably the swankiest inn in the area. Decorated with Asian art rather than afghans and doilies. Situated far off the road, right on a quiet river. Breakfast is gourmet: pear-ginger bread, creme brulee French toast. Rooms are air-conditioned.

A beautiful inn with all the amenities, including a pool. Some rooms have air-conditioning and jacuzzies. Nice grounds and garden to wander around. Situated right in downtown Tamworth, the town that encompasses Chocorua Village. Possibly dog-friendly, for an extra charge. Another top-end choice.

Also in "downtown" Tamworth. Very friendly innkeepers. This place feels like you're staying in someone's home! The four rooms here would be perfect for a group of friends or some aunts/uncles/cousins. We can get a discount of $5-10 off each room if we book out the whole place.

No website, and the address is simply "1 mile from theater" in Tamworth. We didn't see it, but the innkeeper is very nice and this place gets good reviews online. We think the breakfasts must be good, given the owner's culinary background.

Voted the most pet-friendly B&B in North America in 2005. They'll look after your pup while you're at the wedding; "Doggie Day Care" is included in the rates. Very friendly innkeepers here too. There is an exercise room. Located right on the highway, so there may be traffic noise.

More of a motel than an inn. Pool, jacuzzi, and fitness center. Karaoke on Thursday nights! Rooms are functional but not unique, and you'll certainly have more anonymity here than in one of the smaller inns. (Many people consider this a good thing...) We have 15 rooms blocked out here until 4/15 - just mention our names when you reserve.

We wanted to write this place off because of the name, but then we drove by and we changed our minds! Although it's right on the road, the back of the inn overlooks a huge field with amazing views of the White Mountains. Very cozy and homey, another place where you feel like you're staying in someone's home. This would be another place where a few branches of the Caffrey or Faulkner family could stay together.

The website does not do this place justice. The view over Silver Lake from the front lawn (and most rooms) is spectacular. You can sit by the lake in big wooden chairs. However, with room names like "Grampa Earle's room," you know this is a place with lots of lace and quilts.
